The Elliot Hospital Substance Use Disorder Department recognized National Recovery Month by sharing five remarkable stories of patients who are in recovery. Hear all five stories below.

As we strive to strip away the stigmas associated with substance use disorder, Carol Furlong, Director of the Elliot Hospital Substance Use Department, reminds us, Regardless of what the issues are, whether it’s an addiction, whether it’s a mental health issue – regardless of what it is – we’re all the same at our core, aren’t we? We all share the same experiences. We all grieve the same way. We all celebrate the same way. We all feel jubilation in the same way, and when people are able to connect together in that way, that’s when change happens.”

If you are struggling substance use, please call the Elliot Hospital Substance Use Disorder Department at (603) 663-8650. You may also dial 211 to access additional resources through 211 NH.
