Elliot Health improving cancer treatment with second Varian TrueBeam Linac System.
Elliot Health System has a new Varian TrueBeam Linac System, it’s helping to treat patients with cancer more accurately and efficiently.
The main advantages of the system are ease, precision, and speed. Thanks to its pinpoint accuracy and advanced imaging capabilities the TrueBeam system can be used to treat many different types of tumors.
The new system was put into service on March 24. Since then, the Oncology Department has treated 21 new patients for a total of 193 treatments.
Marsha Clements, Director of Oncology Services at Elliot Health System, says, “By having two treatment machines with the same features at the Elliot, it will allow more flexibility for patients throughout. It will also allow the Cancer Center to accommodate more patients within the community.”
