November is Home Care and Hospice Month! All month long, the Visiting Nurse Association of Manchester and Southern New Hampshire is honoring the millions of nurses, home care aides, therapists, social workers, physicians/nurse practitioners, and bereavement spiritual providers who make a remarkable difference for the patients and families they serve. We also appreciate the work of our office staff who coordinate referrals, quality review, scheduling, and other essential functions that allow our clinicians to better serve patients. The VNA of Manchester and Southern New Hampshire is proud and privileged to employee 155 people.
These heroic caregivers play a central role in our health care system and in homes across southern New Hampshire! To recognize their efforts, we call upon everyone to commemorate the power of caring, both in the home and in their local communities, and join with the VNA of Manchester and Southern New Hampshire at Elliot Health System and the National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC) by celebrating November as National Home Care and Hospice Month.
With 10,000 Americans turning 65 every day, the need for health care will continue to rise, and costs will continue to skyrocket. This is where home care and hospice come in. As the preferred choice for most patients, it also offers the greatest cost savings. At the end of October 2020, the VNA of Manchester and Southern New Hampshire was caring for over 600 patients.
Without our home care and hospice staff, many people would struggle to remain independent at home.
Thank you for your hard work and for caring for our patients in the setting they prefer in the best way possible!
