Teams from both Southern NH Health and The Elliot have been working to develop a new, patient-centered service line for cancer patients throughout our region and are partnering with Mass General Cancer Center to provide enhanced services to patients as the new SolutionHealth Cancer Institute.
“This system-wide, multi-site regional cancer program began as a vision created by our physicians—from both The Elliot and Southern New Hampshire Health. They came together to imagine what our center could be, and we are now living that vision, and I could not be prouder,” says SolutionHealth President and CEO Sherry Hausmann.
The SolutionHealth Cancer Institute provides patients with seamless access to surgical oncology, medical oncology, radiation oncology, and support services including nurse navigation, to support patients and their families through every step of their cancer journey, from diagnosis through survivorship. And a robust partnership with Mass General is now providing access to advanced care needs close to home.
The familiar faces patients know, and love will still be caring for patients at each location. In addition to specialists from MGH, the physicians, advanced practitioners, clinicians, and staff from Foundation Hematology/Oncology, Radiation Oncology Associates, and NH Oncology-Hematology are all providing exceptional care for our patients.
The Institute offers services at both the newly opened Solinsky Center for Cancer Care at The Elliot (named in honor of Ken and Grace Solinsky who made a generous gift as part of the $12.3M Hope is Here capital campaign) and the cancer center at Southern New Hampshire Health which also recently received some patient-focused renovations to support a more healing environment.
The SolutionHealth Cancer Institute, in collaboration with Mass General Cancer Center, is designed to improve the patient experience while providing the very best care possible. Among the areas of focus are expanded access to phase 1 clinical trials, enhanced genetic and molecular testing, advanced clinical care for advanced and rare cancers, and multi-disciplinary clinical management that will extend through all phases of a patient’s treatment journey. All available here, close to home.
The cancer institute development and design team, led by System Chief Operating Officer Kelly Corbi, included clinical and operational leaders from across the system who, together, pursued this vision and worked tirelessly to make it a reality. “I am proud of the efforts of all involved and am excited to see us continue to elevate the care we provide to patients throughout our region,” Corbi says.
An external marketing campaign is getting ready to launch to share this vision with our community and will include a new microsite at solutionhealthcancerinstitute.org. Look for it soon! For more information about the SolutionHealth Cancer Institute call (603) 663-2828.
