Congratulations to Southern New Hampshire Health for receiving a quality-driven accreditation and clinical excellence certification by DNV-GL!
For a hospital to be eligible to receive Medicare or Medicaid payments it must meet certain “Conditions of Participation” (CoP) set forth by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). A common way hospitals achieve this is by partnering with a CMS-deemed organization which surveys the hospital regularly.
In 2014, Southern New Hampshire Health chose DNV-GL because the hospital felt that its philosophy and practices were a good fit for the organization. The survey teams at DNV-GL visits Southern New Hampshire Health annually.
By earning accreditation, Southern New Hampshire Health has demonstrated it meets or exceeds patient safety standards (CoP) set forth by CMS. In addition, a successful survey indicates that Southern New Hampshire Health has strong systems in place to support that level of care.
“Great patient outcomes are by design, not by chance,” Rori Dawes, Assistant Director of Quality and Process Improvement at Southern New Hampshire Health explains. “A successful reaccreditation survey affirms that an objective, independent organization has come in to inspect our care practices and agrees that they are sound. It demonstrates how seriously we take our commitment to ensure our staff can provide safe care to our patients.”
Here are some of the comments the surveyors made during their three-day visit:
- “You all are heroes. Keep up the good work!”
- “Your labs are phenomenal! I don’t want to see another lab after this one because I’d only be disappointed.” (All the surveyors came through the lab at some point during the survey because they were so impressed with our facility!)
- “It’s obvious you have a very seasoned team here.”
