The United Way of Greater Nashua and its community spread holiday joy this season by donating $7,000 in gift cards to local health care heroes!

On December 22, 2020, representatives from the United Way of Greater Nashua presented Southern New Hampshire Health with 350 gift cards to local eateries to support our frontline staff. Another 350 gift cards were also donated to St. Joseph Hospital.

The program is a result of a fundraiser by United Way of Greater Nashua that asked community members to donate to help support nurses, nursing assistants, doctors, technicians, and others hospital staff actively on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Thanks to the generosity of the community, the gift cards were purchased from 15 different small local eateries such as Main Street Gyro, Mr. Macs, and SuzZero Ice Creams.

“We love this program, because it supports our local businesses, which are struggling right now, and gives a big morale boost to our health care heroes, who are on the front lines, keeping our community safe,” United Way President Mike Apfelberg says.
