Exciting News! A Nashua-based, non-profit engineering company, MakeIt Labs, developed a prototype for a face shield for healthcare workers with the help of staff from SNHH’s Sterile Processing Department. The shield will protect surgical masks, therefore extending the life of the masks. We recently received the donated materials and staff went to work assembling them. They will be used to protect their co-workers at both SNHH and EHS. Thank you to MakeIt Labs for designing the face shield, the SNHH OR and SPD staff for sharing their advice and testing of the prototype, and to those who helped assemble them! In just a few hours, they had 5,000 masks ready to be sterilized and distributed!
