Elliot’s own Jessica McIntyre, MD was honored with the Dartmouth Excellence In Teaching Award this year. Dr. McIntyre is a pediatric hospitalist who has worked with the Elliot for three years. She also serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics for Dartmouth College.
Dr. McIntyre has always had a passion for teaching, before her career as a medical provider, she worked as a high school science teacher. During her schooling, she did a teaching track, and even won a teaching award during her residency at Brown University Hasbro Children’s Hospital.
She teaches third-year medical students hands-on patient care of pediatric patients in the in-patient hospitalist setting. The Elliot is rated one of the best places for medical students to rotate for pediatrics because they really enjoy the educational experience we have to offer. However, this is the first time anyone from the Elliot has won the Excellence In Teaching Award.
