What is your role here at SNHH?
I am a Pediatric Therapist located at SNHH’s main campus. Children who have pediatricians at SNHH, who also have mental health or behavioral concerns can meet with me for short-term individual therapy. I also do family therapy, when indicated.
I love to bake. I really enjoy trying out new dessert recipes. Whenever it’s nice out, my husband and I go for walks around our neighborhood. In the summer time, I try to spend as much time as possible at the beach.

When I was a kid, I wanted to be an elementary school teacher, mostly because I really enjoyed writing on the chalkboard (no joke).
What did you do before coming to SNHH?
My last job was multifaceted. I spent most of my time providing mental health and behavioral consultation to public schools. Outside of school hours, I conducted therapy and served as a clinical administrator. During the summers, I was a co-director of a therapeutic summer program for children predominately with Autism Spectrum disorders. Prior to that, I was a therapist at a couple of residential of facilities for adolescents in state custody in Massachusetts.

What would you sing at Karaoke night?
I am not one to regularly sing karaoke, but when I do I sing “I want to Dance with Somebody” by Whitney Houston, every time.
What is your favorite part/most rewarding part of your job?
I have always been passionate about working with children. In a child’s life, there is so much that occurs that is out of his or her control. In therapy, the child gets to take the lead, which can be a very empowering and transformative experience. It is incredible to watch a child learn how to successfully navigate his or her world.
I also really enjoy being able to collaborate with the pediatricians at SNHH. I’ve always believed that integrated care is so important to patient wellbeing.
What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
I don’t know how to ride a bicycle! I’m receptive to lessons if anyone wants to teach me!
Farthest you’ve traveled?
I spent a semester in Cairns, Australia while I was in college.
I can’t say that I have a “favorite” band, because I enjoy all types of music. I’m pretty into country music these days.
Last concert attended?
I went to see Billy Joel at Fenway Park a few summer ago.
That’s a tough one, because I have a few that I really enjoy. Two of my favorites are Little Miss Sunshine and My Best Friend’s Wedding.
Favorite Junk Food?
I have a weakness for all types of candy. If you offer me candy, I won’t say no.
What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done?
I went rappelling down the side of a waterfall once. While I was doing it, my harness came undone and the instructor needed to do an emergency rescue. I think I am all done with adventurous activities after that one!
