The Human Society for Greater Nashua (HSFN) is seeking volunteer short-term foster homes in the Greater Nashua area for pets in need!
The short-term foster program, which is a part of HSFN’s Safety Net Program, has been running for about a year and is slowly growing their network of foster families. The foster program allows volunteers to provide a home for pets whose owners need temporary respite for up to one month. Short-term fostering is available in the following situations:
- Families and individuals who have been evicted
- Individuals who are hospitalized or entering a rehabilitation program
- Individuals in transitional housing/shelter or who are experiencing domestic abuse
- Recent immigrants, disabled individuals, and veterans
If you’re interested in volunteering your time and home to care for a dog or cat, please email SafetyNet@hsfn.org. All interested individuals will go through an application process that includes an interview and home visit to ensure everyone in the household – human and animal alike – will be comfortable hosting a foster animal.
Please note that anyone approved by HSFN to foster will be providing this service as a community-based volunteer, and not as part of their employment at SNHH.
