The quality symposium is an opportunity for process improvement teams throughout the Health System to show off the hard work they have done improving patient safety, patient experience, work processes or cost savings.

This year’s event is all about ‘From Blame to Peer Support: The Physicians/Nurses as Second Victims’.’

October 24th – KEYNOTE SPEAKER & AWARDS, 12:00pm, Haytham Kaafarani, MD, MPH, FACS, Associate Professor of Surgery, Harvard Medical School; Director, Center for Outcomes & Patient Safety in Surgery (COMPASS); Director, Trauma & Emergency Surgery Research; Director, Wound Center Massachusetts General Hospital presents “From Blame to Peer Support: The Physicians/Nurses as Second Victims”: Introduce the concept of the second victim, Discuss the emotional impact of adverse events and Introduce the concept of peer to peer support. Award ceremony held at 1pm.
